According to Hong Kong’s Wen Wei Po reported ,that mainland tourists has become a major source of many shopping centers in Hong Kong. Mainland tourists accounted for 40% proportion ,Yuan Fang said that compared with last year’s turnover in 2008 surging 40 percent, many mainland people as the group’s “wife shopping mission” are in the purpose of sweeping the store goods, per capita consumption is as high as 9,000 to 10,500 yuan, 1.5 times than the local passengers; in which, there have been many spending as much as 1 million to purchase brand-name handbags, jewelry and watches Hawker.
Last year, as in the financial tsunami and the Influenza A H1N1 ,such double pincer, Hong Kong’s many shops and businesses are adversely affected.
